I started training with Susan almost 2 years ago now, to improve my overall
strength and stamina, and in particular upper body strength. Now I do it because I
enjoy it and I feel healthier. I had participated in fitness classes but they were not
really targeting my needs as a Yoga teacher and in truth I was a bit intimidated about
being in a gym environment.


Susan develops varied programmes to target specific areas and fine tunes to allow
you to progress steadily. She challenges you, allowing you to ‘work to your edge’ but
not pushing you too hard. Encouragement is offered alongside reassurance that an
exercise can be altered if it really doesn’t suit you. She has a friendly manner and
makes sessions fun so I always leave feeling positive and that I’ve worked but am
not exhausted! This positive atmosphere is especially important if you have difficult
things going on and improving fitness has a beneficial impact on your state of mind
as well as your body.


My flexibility has always been good but is now balanced by much improved Strength,
and Stamina. This has impacted on my yoga practice, allowing me to maintain
stability in standing poses or postures requiring upper body strength and the stamina
for more energetic sequences. I was not looking to lose weight but my body shape
and composition has altered for the better and my health including my asthma have
benefitted.
